But I’m Sick!

I am just getting over a cold. I was really sick over the weekend and spent all day in bed Sunday.
“But I’m sick!” was always a great excuse to avoid exercise. Now my motto is if I am well enough to go to work - I am well enough to work out!

So what if my nose is stuffy? My legs still work!

This Friday I fly down to Texas for work and “Aunt Flo” is due to join me. :-6

Even though it will be “that time of the month” and I will be stuck eating out for every meal for a week, I am not worried about my weight spiking.

Everything is bigger in Texas, but I am not going to be one of them.

I can do this!!!

I dont mean to be contrary, but it seems like you used to have a rule about not using your successes to sell any weight loss device or program besides diet and exercise...and now you have promoted this sensa stuff a few times. what's the deal?

I love reading you blog Jess and I'm sorry you have been sick. Your site has been a constant source of inspiration to me since I found it in October!!! But, I too have wondered why you are all of a sudden promoting Sensa when you lost all of the previous weight without any products. I have just begun my journey this January and hope to be healthy one day. Thanks for always posting what is really on your mind. It makes me feel as if I am not alone on this journey.

Hey Lenora!

You are right! I am hate spammers who constatly post links to spammy Weight Loss sites.

I'm also contacted every week about hawking tons of weight loss products.

I've even had my image used in ads for stuff I never used - without them even asking!

I am not selling any weight loss devices or programs. I am not getting anything out of this.

I talk about Sensa because I am using Sensa.

Would you prefer me to lie and say I am not?

I figure my readers are smart enough to choose if they want to check it out or not.

So that's the deal. I hope that helps!

It seems as though it's the wrong time of the month for you every time you travel... so sorry!

Thanks for the response, Jess. I agree with you about everything you said, and of course I wouldn't want you to lie. I guess I just wanted to inquire about why, after sort of advocating a no-products approach, you chose to change course a little. the single most inspiring part of your blog, in my opinion, is that no-products approach, so...I dunno, I guess it's just a little less inspiring. just my two cents from a frequent reader. :) (Just so you know that I'm not here to bust your chops, I'll sign this with my url)

Hey Jess, I just saw you at Atalanta today! I have to say, you look amazing. I don't think i've seen you in 8 or 9 years. ANYWAY, keep up the good work. We should have a high school reunion karaoke night sometime. love love, Michelle K.

Like the other commenters I have notices your promotion of Sensa. I also really liked your 'natural' approach to weight-loss. But I also like the fact that aren't just blindly ruling them out and that you will try products. The fact that you've found something that helps you is really great.

I have wondered if the Sensa is really helping in the way the manufacturers claim or if it just making you more conscious of when/how you eat, and is therefore something of a placebo. Note that I'm in no way saying this is true, I haven't read up on Sensa, nor have I tried it, it might be working just like it's supposed to. Having said that, I'm actually a big fan of the placebo effect. If this stuff works for you, and if it works via placebo, then it's still working.

How did the trip go?
