13 week, 2 day ultrasound images.
Today I am 14 weeks pregnant. The pictures are from the screening test we had on Friday.
Everything came back looking super healthy and awesome!
We heard the heart beat and it is so crazy to see the new person GROWING in me.
It was so thrilling and scary at the same time!
In a few more weeks I will be able to feel the baby move!!!

Second trimester - here we come!
I am 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. I have 194 days to go before my due date!
Aaron and I will have our next prenatal appointment in a week. Hopefully I will get a picture of the baby again!
We want to have the gender be a suprise, so I hope the baby and the tech are able to keep their mouths or legs shut!!!
Lots of mint green and yellow in the baby's future (Orange, white, cream, gold, silver, grey, black and brown. Neutral Colors)
When the family arrives they can bring the blue or pink.
We are not hoping for a boy or a girl... we just want a health baby.
I have started putting together a Baby Registry on Amazon.com
, but it is not "fully baked" yet.
We are going to use cloth diapers, and I am going to give it my all to breast feed.
Even though we are miles away from any family, I work at a Hospital that has nearly 50 births A DAY, so I have lots of great resources right here. (Plus the employee discount! Score!)
Being due the day before Thanksgiving means that last minute travel to see the baby would be INSANE and costly. Plus who really knows when the newest Scott will make his or her grand enterence?!
Any guesses on if it is a boy or a girl? My husband's co-workers are having a field day.

Arthritis Walk - 11 weeks pregnant
I joined the Arthritis Walk and made a personal commitment to help more than 50 million people who live with arthritis and the families that support them.
I'm not moving alone. By joining the Arthritis Walk I became a part of Let's Move Together - a nationwide movement of like-minded people who want to get a healthier lifestyle and change lives at the same time.
Please support me by making a donation to help fund arthritis research, education, and community programs. And don't stop there! Think about getting more involved by joining my team or starting one of your own.
I appreciate your support and on behalf of the people who live with arthritis pain, THANK YOU!

This weekend is Mother's Day. Do I count as a mom now, or do I have to wait until next year?
I got a bunch of books on parenting and a journal for tracking my pregnancy... but I have no Idea who sent them! I thought Aaron might have order them, but nope. He thought it was his family, but they didn't say a thing about the books either?!
So... thanks for the books, whoever sent them!
I think as a Mother's Day "date" Aaron and I are going to go see THOR, then maybe out for a well done steak.
I miss sushi...

Love at first sight!
Last Friday I had a Confirmation of Pregnancy appointment at my OB/GYN.
Here are the pictures of my sonogram. They are nothing like the image on the HDTV they had on the wall.
The Tech had our baby on the screen clear as day and we could see the baby's heart beating away!
I was awestruck. There was our baby!!!

FINALLY Pregnant
YES+ My positive pregnancy test!
Taken 3/21/11 @ 10:09 pm Lat. 33.93', Long: -84.33'
Aaron and I were finally successful at conception. My due date is calculated to be November 23rd/24th Thanskgiving!!! But who knows when our little sweetheart will acutally arrive.
I am writing this when I am 6 weeks pregnant. It has been 10 days since my positive home pregnancy test. We are trying to keep this a secret for now, but it is so hard.
I wanted to call my mom the SECOND after that test said YES+, but Aaron said let's wait until we know the baby is okay. He is paranoid that I will miscarry - but I don't drink or smoke or do anything that would really put the baby in harms way.
The only thing that is an issue is my age... I am 33. I am just under the HIGH RISK PREGNANCY age of 35.
After the ultrasound and the doctor saying "looks good" -- We will be able to FINALLY share the news!
(April15th)
We want to have the baby's gender be a surprise at birth.
I look forward to finally being a mom! Then I can blog about losing the baby weight! ;)

Am I in a Romantic Comedy?
Are there hidden cameras following me around? Because I swear the last few days have feel like I am in a Romantic Comedy. This could be a movie.
Last week Aaron picked up a CD with subliminal messages to make him more the “Casanova / Don Juan” type. He has listened to it in his sleep and while at work the last few days.
Aaron is now so romantic and so perfect with what he says, I feel all giggly and loved to bits!!! But here is the snag…
Now he insists that he is my lover, not my husband, and that we are “cheating on my husband.” But he is my husband… and when I say that he gets huffy and says, “I’m nothing like that ******* who would let his woman be sweep off her feet away from him.” This is shocking because Aaron never used to swear.
“Lover Aaron” has bought me a beautiful Orchid and taken me out on “dates.” We must really look like a puppy-love dating couple because we are asked at the end if we want separate checks.
Aaron then says: “I’m old-fashioned and would like to pay for everything.” I think to myself… “But we have a joint account!”
Last night really took the cake.
Aaron and I carpool. He drops me off at my work on the way to his. At the end of the day he also picks me up to go home.
In the rush to get to work on the Monday after the “spring ahead” time change, I did not have time to shower and forgot my keys.
Aaron then says that after work he will draw me a bubble bath and wash my back. So after a full day of work and I am thinking about getting home and getting clean!
I send Aaron a text around 5:45 PM asking when he will be arriving.
At 6:00 PM he replies: I am shopping.
I remind him that we need butter.
At 6:13 he replies: I knew I forgot something!
So I figure he is on the way and head down to the lobby of my office building and play Angry Birds
on my Droid X to kill time.
6:57 PM
I call Aaron to ask if he will be there soon.
He says that he is on his way there.
7:43 PM
I send him a text saying: If I knew you were going to be this late I would have looked harder for my keys… starving. :-(
7:53 PM
I call his cell with no answer.
7:54 PM
Aaron calls me to say he is on his way and we will do dinner at Maggiano's.
8:15 PM
Aaron finally arrives at my work and we head to the restaurant.
We get there and seated by about 8:25. We were given as basket of warm bread, but no olive-oil to dip the bread in. We didn’t get any drinks either.
I am very hungry but don't want to load up on bread… especially dry bread with no lubrication or beverage to wash it down!
Eventually we got some service and it was nearly 10:00 when we finally got home.
I wasn’t sure if we were going to do the “bath thing” but Aaron starts “setting up.” I ask if he needs any help or should I let it be a surprise?
He says he wants to surprise me, so I grab a book and wait in the living room.
WAY TOO MUCH TIME PASSES…
Aaron comes into the living room to announce: We are out of hot water and the tub still isn’t full.
Having taken lots of baths before I ask are you sure you pushed the plug down into the drain? He says, yeah… but then I hear him go back into the bathroom and the distinctive Click-POP of the drain followed by a “Oh.”
I am ready to just “throw in the towel” on this whole romantic bath thing, but Aaron is trying SO HARD to make it work.
He starts microwaving water and carrying it into the bath!
Having lost all patience I follow him to the bath spot a small bag from Bath and Body Works on the floor. There are small candle jars burning on 3 of the 4 corners or the tub. Not only is the fragrance wonderful and inviting, but they also MATCH the towels and shower curtain -- amazing. The candles had been burning for at least an hour now and they had filled the air with a wonder relaxing fragrance.
In the bath itself he had selected the bubble bath called “Dark Kiss” and had sprinkled the bubbles with the petals of a dozen dark pink roses!
Everything was perfect, except the water was ICE COLD.
Aaron continued to carry boiling hot water in one microwave-safe bowl at a time, but the water barely got warmer than a pool.
By 11:30 I thought, "Temperature be damned I'm getting into that bath!"
So I step into the tub and let my feet get used to the temp. Aaron asks, “Is it warm enough?”
“Warm enough for me!” I smile and sit down into the tepid tub. Every submerged skin cell in my body screams: “ARE YOU INSANE!?! THIS WATER IS COLD!!!!”
I rebuke myself. “You will get used to it… like swimming in a cool pool or lake!”
Aaron smiles at me in the tub and goes into “Phase Two.”
(Who knew he had more planned?!)
He brings in fresh strawberries and a bottle of Pinot Grigio!
Here "Lover Aaron" surprises me by having wine too. What? Aaron NEVER drank before ever.... What the hell!? He says it goes great with the strawberries, and he is right. The combo is totally delectable!
At this point I am certain the water heater has had enough time to recuperate. I drain out about 4 inches of the cold water then resealed the drain. Adding a few more squirts of “Dark Kiss”, I take a deep breath and crank the dial all the way to hot. It was a gamble but within seconds I was rewarded with scalding hot water!
At last, the bubble bath achieved the perfect sensuous temperature! Bliss!
It was about 1 AM before I was toweled off and got to bed… but it was wonderful if you don't count Aaron getting lost, being 3 hours late to get me from work, slow service at the restuarant, and then using up ALL the hot water trying to fill a bath with the drain un plugged -- It was wonderful.
I am not sure how long "Lover Aaron" will be around, but he's amusing as hell to have around.

No Smiley
I got the Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test
but never got a smiley face.
Rather than think the product is a piece of junk, I worry that my body just wasn't ovulating.
I have my period every 28 days, so I am the text book example of menstration -- Linked to the Moon's cycles. Full Moon = Period New Moon = Ovulation
But I also have PMDD -- Pre-menstral disphoric disorder -- so my hormones take me for a hell of a ride.. but it is a consistant ride!
I am on 23 of this cycle and I am feeling all PMS-y and not preggers.
(Even though we never got a smiley face, it doesn't hurt to practice -- right?)
I take vitamins and drink orange juice for the folic acid.
An ultrasound of my lady parts said nothing looks out of place.. so come-on ovaries, start releasing eggs!

Still Trying....
Yesterday I turned 33.
If Aaron and I are not successful at conception soon, my age will automatically make me a High Risk Pregnancy. : (
I try not to let it scare me, but it does. I really worry about being able to have a healthy baby. We have been trying to concieve for a few months now - but so far, no luck.
I have hope on my side though. My mother had a very healthy baby girl when she was 42.. so I should have about a decade of childbearing left in me. TICK. TICK. TICK.....
So I was talking to my friend who is a new mother and she said that she and her husband tried for months with no luck. Then she tried using a digital ovulation detector.
This one:
Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test

She got preganat with their son Jeffery Allen as soon as the smilely face told her to "GET BUSY."
I am thinking about picking up a kit since this month also proved unsucessful...
I am really looking forward to testing my pee. ; )
Cheers!

Don't eat at the Super Bowl Party - CHEER for the Packers!
Okay, so maybe you didn't even know who is playing in the Super Bowl
this year - but I want to get those of you who are more interested in the comercials than the game a reason to cheer on the Pack!
1. Clay Matthews (Outside Line Backer - #52 DEFENSE)
You will notice this guy in Green and Yellow - his long blond hair flowing from under his helmet - as he attacks the guy trying to throw the ball for the team in black and yellow. Nice huh?
It is Clay's second year in the NFL - and he's got 10+ sacks each season. A NFL First. This guy is HOT in so many ways.....
2. Green Bay is a Non-Profit Corporation - no owner.
How does a city with a population of just over 100,000 keep an NFL team? Well let me tell you a story.
Way back in 1919, Earl "Curly" Lambeau asked his employer - The Indian Packing Company - to give him money to help start a professional football team and buy the uniforms. He was given $500 for uniforms and equipment, on the condition that the team be named after them.
Today "Green Bay Packers" is the oldest team-name still in use in the NFL, both by its nickname and by virtue of remaining in its original city!!!
The Packers joined the NFL in 1921 - just 1 year after the leauge was created. Sadly that inital $500 didn't hold out long and it seemed the Packers were doomed! But Lambeau and 4 other Green Bay business men were determined to raise the funds to keep the team alive. They incorporated the team as a non-profit corporation, sold stock, established the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors.
That's right. The PACKERS are a non-profit corportation without a "owner" or president. It's owned by the fans/shareholders.
Never will a Millionaire say "Build me a new stadium or I'll moving the team to a new city."
The Packer's mean heritage and true love of the game.
3. Bring the Lombardi Trophy "Home"
The pretty silver Super Bowl trophy is called the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Vince Lombardi was a ledgendary coach of the Packers. It would be nice to bring his trophy "home." to Green Bay.
The Packers have won 12 NFL championships. The more than any other team.
4. You love the Underdog.
The Packers are a cinderella story this year. The Packers barely made the play-offs and have been in a MUST-WIN sitiuation since December to get to the Super Bowl. They beat all the odds and are close to making history again!
5. Donald Driver
After 12 years in the NFL, Donald Driver (Wide Reciever - #80) will be in his first Super Bowl. He is thrilled that many of his family will be there since his home state is Texas, and the Super Bowl is in Dallas this year.
6. You don't support Homophobic slurs.
"Haters" of Green Bay tend to make Ad Hominem abusive remarks about the team's name and fudge. They also tend to make jokes about "cutting the cheese."
These types of remarks are low-class and offensive. If you are at a party and someone starts making rude comments "jokingly" - call them out instatntly. Tell them you do not find that type of comment "funny."
Don't be a hater. Don't sit by idle while other hate.
