Still Trying....

Yesterday I turned 33.

If Aaron and I are not successful at conception soon, my age will automatically make me a High Risk Pregnancy.  : (

I try not to let it scare me, but it does.  I really worry about being able to have a healthy baby.   We have been trying to concieve for a few months now - but so far, no luck.

I have hope on my side though. My mother had a very healthy baby girl when she was 42.. so I should have about a decade of childbearing left in me.  TICK. TICK. TICK.....

So I was talking to my friend who is a new mother and she said that she and her husband tried for months with no luck.  Then she tried using a digital ovulation detector.

This one:
Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test

She got preganat with their son Jeffery Allen as soon as the smilely face told her to "GET BUSY."

I am thinking about picking up a kit since this month also proved unsucessful...
I am really looking forward to testing my pee.  ; )

Cheers!

Don't eat at the Super Bowl Party - CHEER for the Packers!

Okay, so maybe you didn't even know who is playing in the Super Bowl this year - but I want to get those of you who are more interested in the comercials than the game a reason to cheer on the Pack!

1.  Clay Matthews (Outside Line Backer - #52 DEFENSE)

You will notice this guy in Green and Yellow - his long blond hair flowing from under his helmet  -  as he attacks the guy trying to throw the ball for the team in black and yellow.   Nice huh?

It is Clay's second year in the NFL - and he's got 10+ sacks each season.  A NFL First.  This guy is HOT in so many ways.....

2.  Green Bay is a Non-Profit Corporation - no owner.
How does a city with a population of just over 100,000 keep an NFL team?   Well let me tell you a story.

Way back in 1919, Earl "Curly" Lambeau asked his employer - The Indian Packing Company - to give him money to help start a professional football team and buy the uniforms. He was given $500 for uniforms and equipment, on the condition that the team be named after them.

Today "Green Bay Packers" is the oldest team-name still in use in the NFL, both by its nickname and by virtue of remaining in its original city!!!

The Packers joined the NFL in 1921 - just 1 year after the leauge was created.  Sadly that inital $500 didn't hold out long and it seemed the Packers were doomed!   But Lambeau and 4 other Green Bay business men were determined to raise the funds to keep the team alive.   They incorporated the team as a non-profit corporation, sold stock, established the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors.

That's right.  The PACKERS are a non-profit corportation without a "owner" or president.  It's owned by the fans/shareholders.

Never will a Millionaire say "Build me a new stadium or I'll moving the team to a new city."

The Packer's mean heritage and true love of the game.

3. Bring the Lombardi Trophy "Home"

The pretty silver Super Bowl trophy is called the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Vince Lombardi was a ledgendary coach of the Packers.  It would be nice to bring his trophy "home." to Green Bay.

The Packers have won 12 NFL championships.  The more than any other team.

4.  You love the Underdog.

The Packers are a cinderella story this year.   The Packers barely made the play-offs and have been in a MUST-WIN sitiuation since December to get to the Super Bowl.  They beat all the odds and are close to making history again!

5.  Donald Driver

After 12 years in the NFL, Donald Driver (Wide Reciever -  #80) will be in his first Super Bowl.  He is thrilled that many of his family will be there since his home state is Texas, and the Super Bowl is in Dallas this year.

6. You don't support Homophobic slurs.

"Haters" of Green Bay tend to make Ad Hominem abusive remarks about the team's name and fudge.  They also tend to make jokes about "cutting the cheese."

These types of remarks are low-class and offensive.  If you are at a party and someone starts making rude comments "jokingly" - call them out instatntly.   Tell them you do not find that type of comment "funny."

Don't be a hater.  Don't sit by idle while other hate.

Married for 10 years!

Yesterday Aaron and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.

These first ten years of marriage have been an extraordinary journey!  There have been so many up and downs.  Tears, laughter, anger, frustrations, disappointments, success, doubt, fear, joy, sorrow, bliss, contentment, worry, relief, happiness, stress, hope, and love.

Aaron and I have gone through thick and thin. (pun intended)

We had some very dark times where we were both encouraged to leave the other, but our desire to be together, and make "us" work ultimately wons out.

"True love is the love that lasts through hard times."

Things I've learned after being married 10 years:
  • Aaron cannot "read my mind" but he is very good at interpretting "Jessesse"
  • Prefection isn't a requirement for anything.
  • Pick your battles, don't sweat the small stuff.

I may be having a huge legal/medical battle with Humana and the woman who hit us on May 15th.

I am really worried because it sounds like Humana is going to go after her insurance for all the stuff related to my back.  The worst part is, it sounds like if they are not successful getting money from her, then I have to pay for all the medical cost for the accident myself.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!

I think I need to get a lawyer. : (

Never too late!

Maybe you were one of the thousands of people who vowed to make 2010 the year you get healthy!

Now nearly 9 months into the year how are things going for you?

Even if you gave up before February I want to encourage you to get back on the healthy wagon!

Losing weight isn't instant.  It takes lots of time changing your lifestyle.

Being healthy is not just a list of foods you eat or avoid, and workouts you hate.   Even if you are able to reach your weight loss goal that way - you will never stay at your goal weight if you hate the lifestyle!

I learned which healthy foods I actually like and made them part of my daily menu.

My exercise of choice is walking at my normal pace while listen to music.

These are the tunes I am listening to currently that really get my bootie moving!!

After listening to some of these tracks and I am sure you will be energized too!!

Cheers!

Southern Hospitality

We've lived in Atlanta for over half a year now.

Everyone who warned me about the heat... it's not that bad.

It is more humid back in Wisconsin and just 10 degrees cooler.

I will be laughing my butt off when winter rolls aroung again and it's in the 40's and 50's here and in the teens back in Wisconsin!

People down here are super nice! (Except when they are driving.)

It's still amazing for me to have doors and elevators held for me by strangers.

Aaron has finally landed a GOOD job after nearly 9 months of unemployement and under-employement.

Our family income will be nearly doubled and we can start setting things up to have a family!

I am not angry or blushing... it is Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition marked by redness on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. While Rosacea cannot be cured, it can be controlled -- if you can identify what triggers the condition and follow a skin care regimen that works.

Snapped this shot with my phone.

I am having a flare-up, but I do not know what triggered it!!  It is so FRUSTRATING!!!

The skin on my checks is just BURNING! It is hot and rashy.  I am no longer super itchy so I guess the mites are dead or at least controlled.

I have an appointment at 9 AM on the 15th to see the dermatologist.

I should put all my appointments into my Calendar...

Othro, Dentist, Physical Therapist...

OH!   I never told you guys I was rear-ended!!!!

I am now on medication and going to therapy for my back and neck!!!!  :-(

I better look for all my upcoming appointments!
