Getting Fit Post Baby

It's been 90 days since the wonderful Miss Alexandria joined us.  90 is also how many pounds I would like to lose now that she's here.  Yep.  I have 90 pounds to lose.

My focus the past year has been my pregnancy and caring for my newborn daughter --  not myself.

My habits have gotten horrible and I really need to start being healthy again!!!


Today I was able to get some exercise by taking a walk outside during work - just like I used to do -- what seems ages ago.

I will have to start eating better too.   Back when I was at my ideal weight, I had a packet of Raisin, Date and Walnut Quaker Instant Oatmeal for breakfast every day.

Lately I have been eating a bacon, egg and cheese croissant with a sweet tea.

Talk about a huge calorie difference!!!


Since I moved to Georgia sweet tea has become my worst vice. Seriously, it is like a drug to me.

I need to follow my old lead!

So.. in a huge change of events -- My weight loss blog will acutally be me losing weigh again!

Your little one is sooooo cute! Congradulations! Once one makes a decision to start getting healthy again, everything's easier. It seems to be the decision is one of the hardest things to do. I lost 50lbs 3 years ago and gained back 15. Recently I've lost those pesky 15lbs and have another 45lbs to go. It was soooo hard for me to get back started again but I seem to have found a rythm - slow & steady with the emphasis on steady. Good luck to you!

Your daughter is adorable. I have three little ones and I love doing Mommy and me dvd's. It give me time to workout and also cuddle my baby. The one I have has Jennifer Nicole Lee in it and the baby loves the moves. I have about 100 pounds to go still so our goals are pretty close. Look forward to reading your blog.

Dieting is not just about food and eating. Actually it is a change in whole life style. Most diet conscious people think that dieting have to mean “all-or-nothing”. But it is not true. OMG!! I was googling weight loss blogs for a little inspiration and took a peek at yours and there was your beautiful daughter with the same name as my daughter! I have never come across anyone who has used this name and my daughter is 11yo! The only difference is that I spell hers Alexzandria. So now I must read your blog because of your amazing taste in names!!

I think it's great that you realize that weight loss has to be a permanent lifestyle change, many people just don't get that!! And that's why we have such an obesity problem. I hope you are still doing good and making progress. You can do it. It's hard to do with a baby in the house, but I did it - I lost 165 lb in the last year since having my baby. what you're doing is great - recognizing it and starting off small. you'll get it done. :)

Jess, I ran across your blog and I think that you getting out and walking is a great way to get in exercise. I love walking. A friend of mine is on the Roca Labs weight loss formulas Sure, she's losing weight, but she walks everyday as well.

Good luck on your weight loss journey I am sure you can do it. I only had one child then had my tubes tied, one was plenty.
Having a kid should actually make it easier to lose weight, go for lots of walks with your baby, get something to carry the baby, pushing a stroller is okay, but carrying is way better. My daughter was over 10 pounds when she was born. I had a snuggly thing that I carried her in, it was great. Unless raining I always went for a walk, around the block, to the park, to the store, whatever, it really does make a difference if you get out and walk. Good luck

Good luck I have 4 children and easily lost the weight with the first 3 but after number 4 it has become much harder and I am learning all I can about eating healthy and weightloss but in the end my children are worth some extra weight
