Thank You Hungry Girl!!!

Yesterday my co-workers asked me to go out to Chili's for lunch. My first instinct was to just say NO. I was feeling a bit gun-shy after the last dining out disaster.

But I didn't want to be anti-social, and since I'll be gone for the next 2 weeks... I agreed to go.

I started researching their menu online, and decided to check multiple sources for the calories. I wouldn't be tricked this time! Then I remembered Hungry Girl!

If you have not been to the Hungry Girl website, I strongly suggest checking it out!

I followed her advice for eating at Chili's and ordered a "Guiltless Black Bean Burger." I asked them to hold the Bun, the Ranch Dressing, and add some lettuce leaves from their lettuce wraps.

I was 142.50 this morning. So I guess the Hungry Girl did not lead me astray!

I was also going to ask them to hold the salt from my veggies, but forgot! So I washed each piece of broccoli in a glass of water. It was DISGUSTING how much crap was on the "Steamed Veggies." Honestly, I wish I had a camera so you could have seen the sediment. I am going to ask for seasoning-free veggies from now on!

Over all, I ate an estimated 1800 calories yesterday. For activity, I took a brisk walk around the block. (About 1.25 miles) It took me under 15 minutes to go out, do a lap and get back to my desk! It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing!

I've decided to take it easy the next few days because I don't want to be on a plane for 9 hours, with sore muscles to boot!

Getting Ready To Go!

Tonight Aaron and I went shopping! I had a list of stuff to take with to Maui, so we picked up things like shampoo, conditioner, SPF 50 waterproof sun block, a beach towel, etc...

I am really getting really excited now!

Today I got to pick up my travel laptop to take with. I am so happy that I will be able to maintain contact! I look forward to doing my blogging from Maui! I also think that keeping up with this blog will also help me not "fall off the wagon" while on Maui. :)

I also e-mailed the condo where I am staying at to ask for a scale in my room. If they can't come through, I have one all ready to take myself. :)

I really think that being able to monitor my weight will help me see if I am eating too much seafood!

I certainly will be getting as much exercise as possible in my time off, enjoying the sun and sand!

Although even if it rains for a solid week, which is the predicted weather, I am taking my YOGA DVD with and stuff so there is NO EXCUSE for me to be lazy! :)

I was back to 143.75 this morning, so I am slowly recovering from the Uno's Chicago Grill debacle on mom's birthday. Sheesh...

Today is also a rest day for me! I biked really good last night then lifted weights & did crunches. :)

I am getting really sleepy now! I better hit the sack! :)

CURSE YOU LYING ABOUT YOUR MENU'S NUTRITION!!!!!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back on March 12th, my weight spiked up just before my period... but now my period is long gone, and my weight still hasn't fully recovered. In fact this morning I was back up to 144.25, and I am extra upset about that! The reason it has me so mad is because I feel lied to.

You see, it was my mom's birthday so we went out for supper! Most foods served in restaurants are devastating to weight loss, so I did my research beforehand. I went to their website and checked out their "supposed" nutritional facts. Then I picked the menu items that SHOULD HAVE BEEN a safe meal for me.

I selected:

Grilled Simple Chicken Breast 240 Calories, 750mg Sodium
with a side of Steamed Seasonal Vegetables - 60 calories, and 80mg of sodium.

That's only 300 calories, and it was meal with the lowest sodium that wasn't a salad, IF THEY TELL THE TRUTH ON THEIR SITE!

Trusting their information, Aaron and I also split a slice of Cheesecake for 450 a piece. (Only 15mg sodium!)

So my TOTAL night out should have only been 750 calories, and 845mg of sodium!!!! And my total calories for the whole day should only have been 1675 calories!!

But here I am... 144.25 pounds and furious.

The only plausible reason for this weight is the nutritional information on their site, and what I actually ate served do not jive.

So to recover, I've really been watching my sodium and plan to do some super sweaty biking tonight to help get the bloaties out of my system.

Lately I feel like my weight loss is a game of Monopoly where I've been stuck in jail. Then, just as I finally get going again, I seem to land right back on the "Go to Jail" square!!

Let's hope as the weather gets warmer my body heats up to the idea to just let those stubborn last few pounds go!
