A Week Until Surgery

Today was my pre-operation physical. There is nothing like the scale at the Doctor’s…

I was 66 inches tall, and my weight (fully dressed in sneakers, jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt, and a hoodie + underthings) was 166.6 lbs. The nurse joked that 6 must be my lucky number, but I was thinking more of the apocalypse.

166.6?!? Not Cool. Argh. Using that height and weight puts my BMI in the overweight category again…. :(

Later during the exam, my Doctor removed “obesity” from my problem’s list, but inside I was thinking “I still have a problem with obesity.”

This knee cannot be fixed fast enough! I am desperate to get back to my old routine, and get healthy again. My body still LOOKS healthy, but this slow weight gain needs to stop!

Having a healthy knee is part of being healthy over-all, but boy is the "downtime" brutal.

Jess

It's a number. Granted, one you don't like, and one that reflects the physical challenges you're facing at present.

BUT, you passed that number on the way to numbers you liked more, and you will do that again.

We all know you can, and you will. Just think how bionic you'll be with your knee all fixed up!

Courage, dear girl!

I'm pretty sure the measuring instruments at the doctors office are rigged. Today the measuring stick told me I shrunk a half inch :( I'm not old enough to shrink! And I'm not tall enough to afford inches taking off like that!

Dear Tocaya:

Good look with your surgery. Regarding the number in the scale, please stay focused on all the way you have come along.

I´m just facing something similar. I gained 18pounds in just 4 months!! but i know this is the LAST time the scale shows this. (Maybe I will be there while pregnant ha ha ha...)

Focus on your surgery, on your healing and remember, as we say here in HP, KEEP THE BEST, REINVENT THE REST!

Hugs,
Jessica from Mexico

You've come such a long, long way!!!! You've been here before and you'll get back there again. The situation is only temporary. You have the determination of 20 women and will jump right back into things. I only wish I had one tenth your courage!!! You will do just fine.
