Still Trying....

Yesterday I turned 33.

If Aaron and I are not successful at conception soon, my age will automatically make me a High Risk Pregnancy.  : (

I try not to let it scare me, but it does.  I really worry about being able to have a healthy baby.   We have been trying to concieve for a few months now - but so far, no luck.

I have hope on my side though. My mother had a very healthy baby girl when she was 42.. so I should have about a decade of childbearing left in me.  TICK. TICK. TICK.....

So I was talking to my friend who is a new mother and she said that she and her husband tried for months with no luck.  Then she tried using a digital ovulation detector.

This one:
Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test

She got preganat with their son Jeffery Allen as soon as the smilely face told her to "GET BUSY."

I am thinking about picking up a kit since this month also proved unsucessful...
I am really looking forward to testing my pee.  ; )

Cheers!

Jess

I used the fertility monitor and it worked like a charm, one at 34, another at 36, one at 38!! You have plenty of time. Statistics are generally made to sound horrible but truly, percentages don't have babies, people do!

It's definitely worth it if it works.

All the best, Jess!

Hey Jess I just want to mention that acupuncture can be extremely helpful when a couple is trying to have a baby. I'm in school for it right now in the class for OBGYN and there are just a lot of options if you're willing to check them out. Best of good luck to you! Please email me if you have any questions.

Good luck!!! Have you had your hormones checked?? LIke Estradiol, Estrone, and Testosterone??? If you are having issues, check out "It's my ovaries, Stupid" by Elizabeth Vliet. Awesome book, and for a few dollars you learn all of this stuff doctors never talk about it. Much to do with fertility, and ALL of the other issues hormones cause like weight gain, diabetes, depression, thyroid stuff.....
I wish I discovered the book in my 20's!!

Maybe you should do it country style. I know it may sound odd, but it worked for most couples I know.

Take a vacation, just the two of you, don't do anything, just relax, enjoy, love, it'll happen if at all possible.

Hi Jess - good luck to you on everything!! I wanted to let you know that I really, really appreciate you putting so much info into your blog - especially the FAQ about loose skin. I think that has been my #1 roadblock to losing weight(fear of the loose skin). I'll be sending good vibes your way, hoping you have a healthy baby in the near future!

Hey there...just wanted to say that we didn't have any luck with the ovu detector, so we ended up with the Fertile Focus. If you read the site, it sounds really kooky - but it works and you can see precisely when it is time to get busy. Anyway, just wanted to mention that!

It took a year and fertility treatments for me to conceive our first, so I understand your fears. I used ovulation tests from the dollar store (they work just as well as the expensive kind). I also charted my temps each day. A few months really isn't that long at all even though it feels like it. Even with no problems at all a perfectly normal couple might take six months or more to conceive. Good luck!!! (and your weight loss is very inspiring!)
