On Monday I got that call that my test came back positive for Gestational Diabetes.
On Wednesday I was in a half-day class learning about Diabetes and how to eat to control my blood sugar and help the baby too.
I want to stress that baby and I are doing FINE, but I do have to check my Blood Sugar 4 times a day and test for Ketones in the morning.
When I think about the baby, it makes all this okay.
My co-workers laughed and said that my pregnancy is doing a great job of preparing me for motherhood. Just one thing after another and making my life a hassle already. ;)
It's 96 days before my due date. I am so excited. In less than 100 days I will be a mom, I will have a baby and know if it is a boy or a girl!
We want the gender to be a surprise.
We have the names picked in no particular order:
For a Girl we like: Alexandria Ruth
For a Boy we like: Roger Joseph
Both names have lots of family significance.

I am so excited for you! As long as you keep on being vigilant with controlling your sugars, the G Diabetes won't effect you or Baby! I love your names! One of my twins was called Ruth! Sending you good wishes and prayers from Australia. Blessings, Glenys
Congratulations! Gestational diabetes is common occurrence among pregnant women especially if you are the type who craves for sweet foods. Take it easy, remember that moderation will keep you safe and your baby as well.
Will you post any pictures of you and this great pregnancy?

What medication do you take for the diabetes?
Great Article. Informative post for diabetes people. thank you for sharing
First time I am reading your post and really liked it bcoz I was also going through the same situation few months back. Now I am having a baby and she is 7 month old now.. Even I had gestational diabetes.. but that's nothing to worry. We need to have a bit control over the sugar products which we eat and it disappears as soon as the delivery of the baby. My baby's name is Abigail we planned it before my delivery... nice to read your post..
I discovered it extremely intriguing to browse I'd personally appreciate to find out you publish far more on this subject. I’m subscribed on your RSS feed now so I’ll check in far more often!
