Baby and I are okay after a scary weekend

On Sunday I fell.

Aaron and I were walking across a parking lot to our car, and my shoe slipped.  I tried to catch my balance, but I knew I was doomed to have let gravity have its way.

I started to fall face first to the asphalt.  Instinctively, I turned so my right side would impact before baby.
I tore up my right hand pretty good, right wrist sprained, right shoulder bruised and bloody, right knee and the top of my right foot both scraped up too, and the smallest injury was to my right cheek.

But what about the baby?!?!?!

At first I just laid there my mind freaking out. Aaron was right there.  He and a woman who saw me fall helped me get up.  I knew I wanted to get to a hospital to make sure the baby was okay, but I was also covered in sandy dirt and blood.

I went in and washed up, then Aaron drove me to the ER.  When we got to the ER they sent us to Labor and Delivery.  L&D sent us to Labor Holding where they hooked me up to contraction and fetal monitors.  We then spent 4 hours waiting to see if I would go into labor.

Being stuck in a bed hooked up to stuff was SO BORING, but Aaron was amazing.  He did his best to entertain me and just be silly. It was so nice to have him there to distract me from my injuries and worry.

Baby was active, with a steady heartbeat, and after 4 hours of monitoring -- there was no sign of pre-term labor!  Since I was 28 weeks and 4 days at the time of the accident, our baby would have a high chance of survival with intensive neo-natal care, but I am glad that the baby did not show up on Labor Day!

I bet you've never been so happy to be bored. Definitely one of those times when it beats the other option. Glad you're (both) okay.

So glad you and Bubs are OK. I had a fall at 36 weeks straight onto my tummy... my son reacted to my fright with a lot of activity, but was fine. Are you wearing flat shoes? Sometimes it a matter of our balance being out a bit towards the end of pregnancy... Blessings, Glenys

That is so scary! I am glad you and your baby are okay. When we were expecting our second baby we had a horrible scare as well. We were walking at a family reunion far away from any city and my wife fell and sadly landed on her tummy first. We were 8 hours away from the nearest doctor and fortunately everything was fine but we were really worried!

Weight Loss is such a big issue these days, for many reasons. But the question is always the same - can I do it and can I maintain it?
Being a stay-at-home mom, wife and a WOMAN, you must maintain a weight that works for you - meaning it does not compromise your job as mentioned. You have to be able to take care of your family, your husband and yourself. It does not matter what others say as long as you and the bathroom scale are satisfied. What do I mean? Simply put - it does not matter how much you weigh as long as you are HEALTHY! As long as your heart, your sugar and your cholesterol are fine, you can be happy with your weight. Because if you're healthy, you can do your work efficiently.
If you do want to loose weight - it has to be by choice! Chosen by you - not anyone else. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on the topic but it can be discussed at length but if you do not choose to do so, it will not work. Choices - that works! Because if the plan is what you decided on, you will commit to it. The choice has to be one that works for you - not your sister who no matter what she eats, does not gain any pound! Yours and yours alone.

Remember - your choice.
